This Privacy Policy applies to the website michelleforjustice.com (the "Site") owned and operated by Michelle Butler for Justice Campaign, a campaign for Denton County Justice of the Peace Precinct 6
Michelle Butler for Justice ("the Campaign," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to michelleforjustice.com and to any communications you receive from us by email, text message, phone, or mail.
By using our website or providing your information to us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Who We Are
Michelle Butler for Justice is the candidate campaign committee supporting Michelle Butler, Democratic nominee for Denton County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6, in the November 3, 2026 general election in Denton County, Texas. We are a political campaign committee registered with the Denton County Elections Campaign Finance Department.

Information You Give Us
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you interact with the Campaign. Depending on what you do, this may include:

Contact information: your name, email address, mailing address, and mobile phone number

Volunteer information: your availability, skills, languages spoken, and areas of interest, when you sign up to volunteer

Event information: your RSVP and any accessibility or dietary needs you choose to share

Yard sign and material requests: your delivery address

Contribution information: your name, address, employer, occupation, contribution amount, and payment details

Messages you send us: the content of emails, text messages, contact form submissions, and social media messages you send to the Campaign

Survey and petition responses: answers you choose to give when you complete a Campaign survey or sign a petition
You are never required to provide this information. If you choose not to, we may not be able to sign you up to volunteer, deliver a yard sign, process a contribution, or respond to your question.
Payment information. Contributions are processed by a third-party payment processor. The Campaign does not store your full credit or debit card number. The processor handles that information under its own privacy policy and security standards.
Cookies, Tracking, and Advertising
Cookies are small data files stored by your browser on your device. We use cookies to keep the site working properly, remember your preferences, and compile aggregate statistics about how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Our website is built on the Wix platform, which sets cookies necessary for the site to function.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns and identify problems with the site. Google Analytics collects information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit.
Email. Our emails contain embedded images that let us see whether a message was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to understand which messages are useful to supporters.
Advertising. We advertise online, and third-party vendors including Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) may show Michelle Butler for Justice ads to people who have previously visited our website. These vendors use cookies and similar technologies to do so.
We do not provide mobile phone numbers collected through our text messaging program to any advertising platform for any purpose.
Your choices. You can manage Google ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com or adssettings.google.com, and Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. Most browsers also let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings — check your browser's help menu. If you disable cookies, some parts of this site may not work correctly. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share, rent, trade, or sell your personal information with third parties for those third parties' own marketing purposes without your consent, except where we are legally required to do so.
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf - our text messaging platform, email provider, website host, voter contact and data tools, and payment processor. These vendors may use your information only to provide services to the Campaign and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Legally required public disclosure. Texas law requires political campaigns to publicly report certain information about contributors, which may include name, address, occupation, employer, and contribution amount. These reports are filed with the Texas Ethics Commission and become public records. This disclosure is a legal requirement and is separate from - and not an exception to - the commitments made above.
Legal compliance and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Campaign, our supporters, or the public.
Campaign staff and authorized volunteers. Campaign staff and trained volunteers may access your information solely to carry out Campaign activities such as volunteer coordination and voter contact. They are instructed to use it only for those purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@michelleforjustice.com and we will delete it.
How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your information for as long as needed to carry out the purposes described in this policy, and afterward as required by campaign finance recordkeeping and other legal obligations.
Mobile Messaging Program
Michelle Butler for Justice operates a mobile messaging program.
How you join. You may opt in to receive text messages from the Campaign by providing your mobile phone number and affirmatively consenting on a Campaign form - including our volunteer sign-up, event RSVP, yard sign request, contact, and contribution forms. Consent is never a condition of making a contribution or of participating in the Campaign.
What you'll receive. Campaign updates, volunteer opportunities, event invitations and reminders, voting and election information, and requests for financial contributions to the Campaign.
Message frequency varies.
Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to stop. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPT OUT, or REVOKE to any message you receive from us. You will receive one confirmation message and will not receive further texts unless you opt in again. You may also email info@michelleforjustice.com to be removed from our text list.
How to get help. Reply HELP to any message, or email us at info@michelleforjustice.com.
Mobile opt-in information is never shared. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile opt-in information and phone numbers collected for the purpose of SMS communication are excluded from all information sharing with third parties.

Email. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Campaign email, or email info@michelleforjustice.com.
Phone calls. Tell the caller you'd like to be removed from our list, or email info@michelleforjustice.com.
Mail. Email info@michelleforjustice.com with your name and mailing address.
Access, correction, and deletion. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@michelleforjustice.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we may need to retain certain information where campaign finance law or other legal obligations require it.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you additional rights regarding your personal information. If you believe you have such rights, contact us at info@michelleforjustice.com and we will work with you in good faith.
Third-Party Links and Platforms
Our website links to third-party sites and platforms, including our contribution processor and our pages on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Those services have their own privacy policies and are not covered by this one. We encourage you to review them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use of our website or continued participation in our messaging program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
